is a sleek and modern fast casual restaurant now open on Colorado Boulevard. They serve a variety of Asian street food from pho, rice and noodle dishes, banh mi sandwiches and fresh crisp salads. It's a good place to head if your the one gluten free person in the crowd, there's something for everyone and there's something for you.
Broken rice is a bright and airy restaurant with a comfortable and relaxing ambiance. On a cold and cloudy day Broken Rice is the perfect place to hang with a hot bowl of pho, and on the beautiful days they have an amazing wall of sliding glass doors to let the fresh air in while enjoying your happy hour cocktails.
For those of us that are gluten free, there isn't a specific gluten free menu, but the options are labeled on the main menu. If there is something on the menu that catches your eye the staff is very willing and helpful to accomodate any food allergies if/when possible. The salads for instance don't say they are gluten free, but if you remove the wontons and get the gluten free dressing then your good to go. I felt the team at Broken Rice was very helpful and knowledgeable about what menu items were adaptable. Unfortunately they do not have a gluten free bread option for their sandwiches, but the other delicious gluten free options surely make up for it.
Thank you to Broken Rice for providing such a delicious and beautiful meal. If your looking for a quick and easy spot for your lunch break or happen to be stuck in the Colorado Blvd. traffic, stop by Broken Rice. I know I am ready to head back ASAP!
For starters, I had one of my favorites, fresh chicken spring rolls with creamy peanut sauce, and I had the pleasure of tasting both the yuzu lemonade and a pomegranate crush cocktails.
Next up was a big beautiful bowl of the pho ga. A perfect combo of rice noodles, chicken and cilantro in a rich and savory broth that is made in-house daily. This is also the happy hour size, so it's a great deal!
The gluten free broken rice curry bowl was rich in flavor and full of beautiful vegetables and coconut curry.
The mei nam noodles was my personal favorite. It's a mix of chicken and shrimp, carrots, onions, eggs, scallions and bean sprouts with coconut curry served on a bed of thin rice noodles. It was so good, I kept this dish for myself.
On top of having awesome food they have a pretty awesome happy hour on weekdays from 3pm-6pm which includes any pho dish and the fresh rolls. Yum!
